The wonder that is the mountains

So lately- today especially- I have missed the wonder that was my home in Boone, NC. Now for those that have never been to Boone, this is truly your lose. Boone is the prettiest, most peaceful, entertaining place I have ever lived. Don't get me wrong, I love living in Raleigh, but there is something that draws me too Boone. Perhaps it's because a little piece of my heart will always live there.

I am currently sitting at my desk at work STARING out the window with this longing in my heart to not be sitting here but rather be out enjoying the changing leaves and brilliantly blue sky. I want to go to Trout Lake and sit in my spot- that was my spot for 4 years- and think. I love that spot. I have yet to find a spot like that in Raleigh. It was a peaceful spot, I went there to think, ponder, reflect, cry if needed and just have Emily time. One time I went there not knowing it was icey...needless to say I got stuck in the ice and could not move my car... that was scary.

I miss sitting on my porch with my roommates and enjoying the scenery around our house. I miss being snowed in and making snowmen and going sledding on death hill.

So yeah- moral of the story is I miss Boone but I love Raleigh also.

I'm right there with you!! Every time I go home, I come back and tell Josh that we're moving back to Boone:) My favorite spot is under the big tree at the top of the hill at Moses Cone. Love it.
