Nice cars

So I have a '96 Honda Accord and I love it. When I was in high school, it was the car I really wanted. Maybe a different color, but still it was what I wanted and now I have it. Other than that, there has only been 2 other cars that I have REALLY liked or wanted. In high school and college I really wanted an orange Xterra. I heart them. If gas wasn't so expensive, that is what I would have right now. There was a year or so in college that I also really wanted a Touareg. I still would like to have an Xterra and I think one day a Touareg can be my mom car. ANYWAYS, my car has had a series of unfortunate events over the last 2 months. It has been a little traumatizing. So my car needs to be fixed or I need to get a new one. I don't necessarily want to buy a new car as I am content with my car. It's strange how cars have become a status symbol. I mean, I obviously have a terrible job and terrible self worth or I would be driving a really nice car by now. It will be interesting to see how our economic crisis impacts peoples perspectives and peoples willingness to drop lots of money on a new car when the one they have works perfectly fine. I think for now I will keep my car that some might consider a piece and drive it happily until I all of the sudden get lots of money.

In college I bought a 2000 Honda Accord brand new. Six months later, I totaled it. So, I bought another 2000 Honda Accord. Then, after pay over $300 a month for several years, I decided that I did not want a "new" car.

Since then, I have driven a 1984 pickup truck and a 1991 Acura Integra. If our car says something about us, mine probably says that I am cheap.

1999 Toyota Corolla!!! I have considered for the past 2 years buying a new (old) truck. Not a nice one but one... well nice to me but a really old one just so i can stuff around in it. The problem is I get too good of gas mileage with the carolla to ditch it and I dont really have space (and probably the need) to have an "extra" vehicle right now. SO fo now I will continue to use my friends/brothers truck.

We did get a great deal on our other vehicle that Diana drives for her job. Ya know, the "not minivan." I am convinced that will be the vehicle my son drives around his band gear in one day. ;)

I love cars....though I probably error on the side of spending too much for a nice car. If Rebecca wasn’t around I would be driving a corvette and broke...lol...Shannon's right car payments can suck. They are the worst thing you can do financially. We got a sweet deal on our truck though. If you can find 0% financing, invest most of the money you would pay for the car in something stable like a CD, or bonds or something with ok interest payments and use the money u make to cover or supplement the payments. That’s what we did with our truck and we will end up paying only $500 total for the Tahoe.
