App-elation
Some lyrics to App State's fight song:
Always a winnin,
Always a grinnin,
Always a feelin, fine.
I can't stop grinnin myself. We are now on Day four where we wake up smiling with a blocked kick image in my head. I am still floating. I can't get over how amazing our team was on Saturday. I have never been so proud to be a mountaineer.
I loved everything about App, but I secretly always wished we had a big sports school.. that I could go to a random sports bar and see us on TV...
I wasn't the only one who had all my dreams come true this weekend....
Here is are a few things to help you reminice and grin as well....
My personal heaven will just be this clip on repeat for eternity. (note all Jerry Moore can say is "God bless em.")
Walking Wounded
OHIO STATE LOVES US THE MOST
PENN STATE LOVES US THE MOST
They really really love us
Immeditately after the game, 600 miles away, in a little mountain town in Carolina (PS, this ends UP A MOUNTAIN in the CHANCELORS FRONT YARD, who was quoted later saying about the goal post..."I can't wait to get home and see it"
In Boone at 11:30 Saturday night, a few miles out of town, they team was greeted with police cars, fire trucks and ambulances to lead the team back to the stadium.. there they were greeted by the entire town of Boone.
After the game.
Sorry Michigan
I want to shout it from the roof tops.
I want to buy 2 million dollars of Appstate T Shirts... kind of like Ohio State is doing to wear to the Ohio Michigan this year....
I want to stake see the A flag all over my yard and watch them wave in the wind.
I want to... I want to... I don't know.. its three days later and I am still chanting in my head "I don't give a damn about the whole state of Michigan.. the whole state of Michigan..."
I want to kiss Jerry Moore on the lips.. and dance with Chancelor Peacock and bear hug Armanti Edwards...
Who knew the greatest upset in college football history would be our little Apps.....
Here are some quotes from my favorite article thus far.. which was in the NEW YORK TIMES.. we were in the NEW YORK TIMES...
"While I won't say that Saturday's victory was my happiest moment as an alumni... oh, what am I saying? Of course it was my happiest moment as an alumni. When I saw the new Saturday, poping up as the lead story on Yahoo.com, I had the same kind of sensation that strikes when you see that someone young and vibrant has died, only in reverse..... "
"The bad news is, we just inherited about a few million Michigan fans as enemies. Let them swear, I say. I won't hear them. I will be in the closet, hunting for that black and gold necktie."
